In this virtual conference from Spectroscopy Magazine, the Society for Applied Spectroscopy and the Coblentz Society, Ocean Insight’s Derek Guenther offered a fresh take on “Raman Spectroscopy for Rapid Detection of COVID-19.”
Now available on demand, the 2022 virtual conference Molecular Spectroscopy in Practice: Investigating Problems in Industry and Beyond, brought together leading scientists, researchers and instrument suppliers for topics ranging from emerging trends in food screening techniques to spectroscopy-based methods for analyzing microplastics in drinking water.
Our colleague Derek Guenther, Senior Application Scientist, presented “Raman Spectroscopy for Rapid Detection of COVID-19.” The presentation describes the use of Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) substrates for trace-level detection of viral indicators such as the spike protein in COVID-19 or antibodies that respond to other viruses.
