Our 3-Year Warranty covers Ocean Insight’s miniature fiber optic spectrometers, spectral sensors, light sources and sampling accessories – regardless of the application – from defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Ocean Insight fibers and probes, MZ5 mid-IR spectrometer, NanoQuest, STS series miniature spectrometers, LTMS control unit and fluid handling parts, and WaveGo are covered under one year warranty. LTMS consumable parts are covered under 90 day warranty.
The warranty covers parts and labor needed to repair manufacturing defects that occur during the warranty period. Also, we will cover the costs of shipping warranty-related repairs from our customers to Ocean Insight and from us to our customers. Repairs and upgrades are covered for manufacturing defects for 6 months from the date of purchase from Ocean Insight.
Normal wear, scratching and cosmetic damage not affecting the performance, bulbs, batteries, consumables and vendor items are not covered by the Ocean Insight limited warranty. For vendor items, the manufacturer’s warranty terms are in force and vary from product to product.
These causes are not covered by this warranty: damage caused by accident, misuse – such as using an incorrect power supply or power current – abuse, product modification or neglect; damage occurring during shipment; damage resulting from the performance of repairs by someone not authorized by Ocean Insight; damage caused by installation of parts that do not conform to Ocean Insight specifications; units not used for their intended purpose; any claims made based on misrepresentations of the seller and costs associated with installation of the unit; and claims made after the customer makes further use of the product after discovering the relevant breach of warranty.
Regarding fibers and probes, you must report breakage within two weeks of receipt of the fibers or probes, otherwise we cannot honor claims. We recommend inspecting all fiber products immediately upon receipt.
Ocean Insight’s liability is limited to the repair or the replacement, at our option, of any defective item and shall not include incidental or consequential damages whatsoever. The foregoing limitation shall apply even if Ocean Insight has been advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of whether the claim is based on (i) breach of warranty or contract or (ii) negligence, strict negligence, strict liability or other tort. Ocean Insight reserves the right to replace a discontinued model with a functionally comparable model.
Also, for any items that are replaced or exchanged under warranty, the warranty start shall apply to the date of the original sales order.

THE WARRANTY SET FORTH ABOVE IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO ITS TERMS AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ARISING BY OPERATION OF LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE OF TRADE OR OTHERWISE, SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PURPOSE. THE WARRANTY SET FORTH IN THIS CONDITION IS MADE SOLELY TO THE INITIAL CUSTOMER AND IS NOT TRANSFERRABLE TO ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY.
