Details
A reflection/backscatter probe is a compact, versatile sampling option to measure diffuse and specular reflectance, backscatter, or fluorescence from samples as varied as solids, solutions, and powders. Reflection and backscatter measurements can provide quantitative information about the color, appearance, and chemical composition of a sample.
We offer reflection/backscatter probes in a variety of fiber core sizes and wavelength ranges. Custom options are also available.
Overview
- General purpose -- ideal for diffuse or specular reflectance from solids; fluorescence; color
- "Mixed" fibers -- probe assembly comprises six UV-Visible (300-1100 nm) and six Visible-NIR (400-2100 nm) fibers for illumination, plus one UV-Vis and one Vis-NIR read fiber
- Probe design -- 12-around-2 fiber bundle design, with two 6-fiber legs connecting to the light source and two single-fiber legs connecting to the spectrometer
